Dr. Theodore H. Reich Memorial Award
In memory of Dr. Theodore H. Reich who for many years was Division Supervisor for the Country Milk Section of the NYS Health Department. Member of the Farm Methods, NDPC, Council Delegate and Secretary of the Orange County Sanitarians Association; died while serving December 1971.
NYSAFP membership not required. Must have given outstanding service as a dairy plant field-person.Procedures:

George “Sid” Miller, Jr. Affiliate of the Year Award
In memory of George “Sid” Miller, Jr. of the New York state Department of Health who founded the Long Island Association of Milk, Food and Environmental Sanitarians in March 1981 and served as its’ first President.
Must be an active affiliate of the NYSAFP and meet the criteria outlined on the affiliate award application. Procedures:
Each affiliate is provided an application. Completed form is given to the Executive Secretary, selection made by NYSAFP Board of Directors. Award is presented at council luncheon at the Annual Conference, and announced again at the AC Awards Banquet.
William V. Hickey Memorial Award
In memory of William V. Hickey, sanitarian and editor of “Environmental News Digest.” His devotion to the food industry to improve the quality of foods continues to serve as a guide to all members of the food industry and our Association.
NYSAFP membership not necessary. Must have made an outstanding contribution to the improvement of the food industry. Procedures:
Selection by the Food Committee.
Howard B. Marlatt Memorial Award
In memory of Howard B. Marlatt, founder and Past President of the Orange County Sanitarians Association. Member of the NYSAFP Board at the time of his death, July 10, 1969, Chairman of the Laboratory Practices Committee for three years.
NYSAFP membership not required. Must have made an outstanding contribution in the field of dairy and food laboratory work.Procedures:

Emmett R. Gauhn Memorial Award
In memory of Emmett R. Gauhn, one of the founders of the NYSAFP (NYSAMFS). He served as the first President for four years 1922-26. Had an outstanding career as Chief of the Rochester Milk and Food Section, Commissioner of the Rochester Welfare Department and Chairman of the New York State Youth Comm. His foresight and leadership were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Member in good standing of the NYSAFP. Must have made an outstanding contribution to the NYSAFP or in his field of endeavor. Procedures:

Dr. Paul B. Brooks Memorial Award
In memory of Dr. Paul B. Brooks, Deputy Commissioner of Health, NYS Health Department 1925-46. His devotion to the cause of progressive milk sanitation continues to serve as an inspiration and guide to all members of the NYSAFP.
Member in good standing of the NYSAFP; Member in good standing of an Affiliate; has contributed to the welfare and progress of an affiliate.Procedures:
Council Chairman solicits nominations from the affiliates. Selection made by the Awards Committee with Council Chairman as a Member of the Awards Committee.
